You know what's worse than cancer? Not knowing you have it and waiting too long to do something about it. Most doctors recommend women under 40 to get screened every two-three years and those over 40 to have checks annually. In 2018, the recognized that around 2.1 million women worldwide were affected by breast cancer. It's also the number one cause of cancer-related death in women.

Look there's probably a million other things you'd rather do, but a screening takes less than an hour, and now's the best time to go: hospitals have deals on until the end of October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month) that make it less of a shock to your WeChat wallet.

Jiahui's breast cancer screening package includes both an ultrasound and mammogram for 980rmb until the end of October. Take two friends along with you and they'll screen you all for just 380rmb per person.

Yosemite has a few options. The cheapest option at 380rmb includes an ultrasound, 450rmb gets you a mammogram, and the most expensive option at 1,280rmb includes a mammogram and more extensive checks for tumor markers.

Parkway's breast screening includes either a mammogram or ultrasound for 880rmb and is available at its People's Square Clinic. Important note, this screening isn't covered by insurance.

Shanghai United Family's package includes screening for both cervical and breast cancer via ultrasound for 1,500rmb.

SinoUnited is offering a package for 999rmb which in addition to a breast ultrasound also includes a cervical screening and pelvis ultrasound.

Breast cancer screenings usually involve a physical exam and consultation with a breast specialist and a scan of the breast tissues via ultrasound, mammogram (x-ray of the breast to check for lumps/nodules), and/or MRI. A combination of both mammogram and MRI increases the chance of detecting cancer but they also tend to be more expensive.
