Mega-important street fashion news: INNERSECT is back again this weekend at SNIEC from December 5-6, from 10am-9pm/6pm. (December 4 is only for media and preview ticket holders). Founded by streetwear icon Edison Chen back in 2017, the INNERSECT expo has grown into a must-not-be-missed event in Shanghai for the young, chic and urban. Last year, the booths covered up an entire 20,000sqm space and were still crammed with street-fashion fanatics from all over the nation.
INNERSECT 2020 is titled "Vision and Experience," intended to address our over-reliance on vision and symbolism, as opposed to experiences being perceived by the other senses. It鈥檚 real deep. We don鈥檛 know how that鈥檚 going to be addressed in the curation, but expect to see a huge array of very niche, very fashionable local designer brands, and some "mainstream" 鈥� if you will 鈥� big names like Salomon and New Era, which will be celebrating its 100-year anniversary with some special setup at the expo. KIDULTY, one of the earliest street fashion media platforms in China, will be showcasing a series of new-media installations titled "Be Water My Friend". Other popular street culture media will be doing public talks.
