Mixtape asks DJs and producers coming to town, in their opinions, what are the five best songs ever and forever and ever. Or just five songs that are somewhat interesting for some reason. Or six songs. We're easy…
The mix maker: Darq E Freaker is a 27 year-old grime producer from London, who makes hyper, heavy beats that sound like crunk Street Fighter II. He's produced for rappers like Danny Brown and Gita, and he even did an official remix for Scissor Sisters. His most famous tune to date is this one:
And here's his new tune "Minger," out on . This one is realllll heavy.
He's DJing at for a show. Ahead of that, we exchanged some emails about tunes and dragons.
He said "Lets call this list 'Freaker picks 5'". Turn your VPN on for these.
1. Future Brown feat. Tink - "Wanna Party"
"One of the best tracks this year, really came out of no where. Tink is amazing."
2. Travis Scott - "Upper Echelon"
"Travis Scott is god! That song always goes well."
3. Kelis - "Fish Fry Friday"
"Just wait till you hear my remix!"
4. Adi Ulmanksy - "Was It You?"
"She's the homie... pipes for days"
5. Danny Brown - "Handstand"
"Danny is another homie, sick beat (wonder who made it?). This one always goes off!"
