So that's a very nice feather in the cap indeed.

The Clarke Sisters - "I've Got the Victory" (Joey Negro Edit)

James Hillard Says: "From a recent compilation called Overdose Of The Holy Ghost, which explores gospel music through disco and boogie era -- this one is a stormer! Uplifting vocals and a driving and pulsating bass line come together in an infectious groove that if I had been exposed to it at a young age... I might well be a 'believer' today!"

Jean Carn - "Was That All It Was" (Philadelphia International Records)

JH: "My favorite dance record of all time and a firm favorite down at Horse Meat Disco in London. It has the power to pull me to the dance floor every time. Jean is one of the most underrated vocalists of all time and when I say underrated, I mean she never gets the recognition compared to many of her contemporaries. This song is pure drama and an arrangement that is pure Philly, and if you aren't moved by this record then you clearly aren't a human being!!!"

Todd Terje - "Strandbar"

JH: "For me this is most definitely the hit of the summer. Having heard it for the first time at the Glastonbury Festival back in June, I was instantly hooked. I think it's his best record to date, combining a funky groove at the beginning before ending up in uplifting piano house very reminicent of strings of life! For someone who doesn't play a huge ammount of new music, this one will be on my playlist for quite a while to come!"

Smile - "Skylight"

JH: "This record is pure joy and totally camp. Guaranteed to bring a smile on your face thanks to the insistence of the vocals. The break in the middle is totally bonkers and I've been tearing up dance floors and making people beam with this record. Its also a record that foxes some of the most ardent diggers and has them running to the decks to find out what it is!"

Inch By Inch - "Persia"

JH: "Lyrically this is pure filth and the groove is too! It seems quite laid back for what is actually quite an uptempo record, but I've been playing this record for years and always gets a good response. It's everything a good disco record should be. Dirty, Sexy and groovy! I hope you think so too..."
