The original English musical We're Going on a Bear Hunt celebrates its 15th anniversary at Shanghai Grand Theatre. With 5 more shows left this weekend, families in Shanghai still got the chance to check it out.
The production of this show is based on the world of Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury's much-loved picture book. The Stage reviewed it as ‘Brilliantly inventive and engaging'.
The live theater tour has a running time of just under an hour at 60 minutes with no interval, making it great for little ones. The official recommendation is for children between 3 and 12 years old. But no one is stopping you from watching it if you still feel like a kid at heart as well.
The Story
A family decides to go looking for a bear, and declares – 'we are not scared', but they then face a series of obstacles, including a river, a snowstorm, and a muddy swamp. Suddenly, they do seem a little more scared. At each point, the family realizes that they cannot avoid the obstacles, but must 'go through' them.
