About

This exhibition brings together works from five artists who capture the landscape of Chinese rivers through imagery, drawing inspiration from past literary works. They all engage physically in creating their works, traversing hundreds or thousands of miles for several years. Photography enables them to discuss the past and the present simultaneously. Their created images both reference the traditional depiction of landscapes in art and literature, while also echoing concerns about the impact of human activities on the environment in the contemporary processes of industrialization and globalization.
