Job Description

  • Support the general manager in planning and executing the sales strategy.
  • Develop strategies to optimize sales effectiveness.
  • Identify new market opportunities and promising sectors to expand our prospect pool.
  • Spearhead new business growth to meet established targets, taking ownership of achieving these goals.
  • Lead the existing business development team.
  • Cultivate personal prospects and client portfolios to contribute to the office's new business objectives actively.
  • Oversee the business development team's activities, including their sales performance and new opportunity pipeline.
  • Recommend and facilitate internal sales training sessions.
  • Within the allocated budget, suggest hiring, promoting, or dismissing team members to the General Manager based on their performance.
  • Participate in direct negotiations with insurance companies to secure favorable business deals.
  • Assist in preparing for and attending important client meetings.
  • Maintain regular client contact to ensure high satisfaction and retention rates.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of sales activities and regularly review them with the General Manager.
  • Directly report to the General Manager.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects and reports as assigned by the General Manager.

Requirements

  • This position is based in Shanghai, with occasional travel required.
  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of sales experience, with a proven track record in managing sales teams.
  • Strong business acumen is essential.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance, particularly in international health insurance, general insurance, and life insurance.
  • Possesses relevant contacts and connections within the industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate and maintain a personal pipeline of prospects and clients.
  • Native proficiency in Chinese, fluent in spoken and written English; proficiency in other European languages is a plus.
  • Proficient in using MS Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude, capable of working under pressure to achieve targets.
