Shakespeare's been dead for 400 years (in April) and is coming to Shanghai to discuss the playwright during the 19th annual .
This is part of a new program by McKellen and the that celebrates Shakespeare's legacy. Gandalf arrives on June 11 for the festival, and on the 12th, BFI will screen , which was co-directed by and stars McKellen. Following the screening, McKellen will do a Q&A about Shakespeare adaptations in film, and BFI's head curator Robin Baker will host a talk on the history of the adaptations. SIFF ticketing details have yet to be released. More news as we get it.
