Here's a good event to go to for Thursday evening if you're looking for inroads into local expat writers groups and publications. Beijing-based poetry and performance collective is in town hosting event with Shanghai's own . They're spinning up a musical element to their usual bookish endeavors, staging live music performances along with poetry readings. "Featuring poets Matthew Byrne, Alexandra Holub, Robbie Yan, and Elena Sichrovsky, as as as musical artists Fiao, Pourquoi Pas?!, Slushat Diru, and Jukka Ahonen." Don't miss out on that if you're looking for a China-based support network for your own poetry / literature, or just looking for a great show. Music / reading from 7.30pm to 10pm; party till late.
