It's ghost month, and today is the 15th day of the 7th lunar month, a.k.a. Zhong Yuan Jie, a.k.a. The Ghost Festival a.k.a. The Hungry Ghost Festival a.k.a. the night when local kids' parents tell them to stay home and not go to the club, and vegetarian Buddhist restaurants are fully booked. Apparently, some ghosts will visit the living tonight, as the realms of heaven, hell, and earth all open up like in the end of the World of Warcraft movie. Club promoters, don't be surprised if you see a drop in your Wednesday attendance.
Some will burn incense and offerings for the dead tonight. We stopped by a shop on Julu Lu selling those to pick up a few items and talk to the shopkeeper about the holiday.
