Skyscraper geeks have been geeking out about the Shanghai Tower, the mega-structure in Pudong which is set to open at the end of next year. Yesterday its height surpassed 500 meters, meaning it's now the tallest building on the Chinese mainland, taller than the SWFC (493m). It's also taller than the Taipei Tower Taipei 101, which is 449.2m (if you don't include the 50m the spike on the top).
