Because "interviews" just sounds so staid and formal! This is where we talk to interesting people about interesting things. "Five" is more of a guideline than an actual rule.
"I'll meet you at exit 2 of the subway. In my hand, I will be holding a fan," said Mr. Yang over the phone.

Mr. Yang is a 75-year-old fan-maker suffering from an infection in his arm. Despite visits from several foreign TV stations and his notoriety in his community for his exquisite fans, Mr. Yang still lives in relative poverty. That's why , the organization that throws the Winter Bazaar and Spring Festival markets, where Mr. Yang has sold his fans, is holding to help pay for his medical costs. The event happens at and will have F&B pop-ups, performances, and music. 15% of F&B sales will go to Mr. Yang.

I visited Mr. Yang at his home in Hongkou, where he lives in a cramped room of an old lane house with his wife. A cardboard barrier separates the bedroom and the living room. Drying clothes hang from wires tied to the ceiling. Boxes of fans and materials are stacked against the walls. There is only enough space to fit two small stools.
