Since its opening in May, burger joint in the Shanghai Centre has drawn a lot of fire from Shanghai denizens. The biggest complaint has probably been that the restaurant no longer serves the "Crack'a Jack" burger. That never bothered me too much; change is the only constant.
Second to that was the menu's strict a la carte policy. How can you charge extra for fries? Don't they just go with the burger. It was a big bone of contention for a lot of guests, and they've finally responded. Henceforth Beef & Liberty's burgers come with a side of fries.
There you go. Ask loud enough and long enough and you shall receive.
The policy is effective every day except for Monday night, when they do that . Fries are extra then. After all, you've got a free burger. Isn't that enough?
