Apparently , the first place in Shanghai to specialize in smoked brisket, closed down sometime over New Year's. No clear reason given, something about government-owned buildings and all the associated risks of sudden eviction. It didn't manage to in six or so years of operation, but that's still too bad. If you're still looking for smoked meat reuben sandwiches and poutine, though, the is still open, closer to downtown, and with more accommodating foot traffic.
