Information regarding a few larger music festival-ish events has landed in our inbox, and although we don't have any Midis or Zebras or whatever, there's still some interesting stuff on in Shanghai.
May 1-4: Mini Midi
Various locations: May 1-2 in Zhujiajiao (50rmb per day; 80rmb for two days); May 3 at (80rmb); May 4 at O Art Center (888 Panyu Lu -- tickets 50rmb).
Mini Midi is the "experimental" off-shoot to the larger Midi Festival in Beijing, and this year, they're doing two days of performances in Zhujiajiao, which is delightful little water town just outside Shanghai, a larger 7pm to midnight event at MAO Livehouse on May 3, and a gallery show on May 4 at the O Art Center. The four days of shows will see Shanghai and Beijing performers and sound artists joined by international guests.
If you haven't been down to Zhujiajiao yet, this is a great opportunity to do so. The venue for the thing is Caotang (Dongjing Street 31, Zhujiajiao, Shanghai; TEL: 15221361365).
Highlights include , triumphantly returning from Africa, agit-noise from , LLND from France and from Denmark.
The full line-ups for the different venues and days is available at the Mini Midi homepage .
