The beautiful garden villa at 20 Donghu Lu has seen a lot in the last 10+ years. You may know it as the site of the first el Willy restaurant and also sushi superlative Oyama. It shuttered in 2018 but, hey now, it's coming back to life this fall! Things are hush-hush at the moment, but what's for sure is that the people from NAPA Wine Bar (which plans to reopen its Bund 22 location in early 2021), is going to be moving in on the first floor with a new wine bar and casual restaurant; Simon Briens from a certain popular crepe place will be doing a new restaurant (NOT A CREPE PLACE), also on the first floor; and Justin Xu from will be doing an izakaya on the whole of the second floor. Construction starts in August, and they're fingers crossed for an October opening.
