Local promoters Antidote have been quiet for a while. Maybe because , the man at the helm, has been up in opening up there and showing those northern squares how to party like a fucking southern rock star.
Anyhoo, this weekend Antidote is making up for all that with two parties to celebrate seven years on the scene. The first is up and has Crash and Compute (Emil de Waal and Spejderrobot from Denmark) going up against Caliph-8, from the Philippines. That will be a semi-live show of experimental dancefloor stuff, abstract jazz and mentalness. 50rmb to get in. Solid stuff. More info here.
Then it's more Caliph-8, this time joined by Lady Citizen from Kyoto. He's a producer and DJ who makes chunky, synth-heavy electronica. Currently resides in London.
