I'm skeptical about 80rmb+ cocktails. Been burned too many times. So when I saw the menu at , whose 50-something cocktails range from 80-115rmb, I was dubious. Well, these guys are doing right. The bill came out to 200rmb for two drinks but I'd gladly return if my wallet was feeling heavy.

Bar No. 1 and 2 are in Guiyang, out in Southwest China. Bar No. 3 sits on Xingguo Lu, just north of the gay triangle and that cute cat palace on Huaihai Lu. Design is concrete with exposed ceilings, dim lights, a few tables outside, big windows, and nice touches like whiskey barrels above the bar. The designer has obviously studied the masters. It feels Japanese, with low seating, jazz music played at a perfect volume, and a focus on whiskey and doing things the fucking proper way.
