Danshui Lu continues to evolve with ever better watering holes, the most recent of which is a craft cocktail lounge called Encore.
It's a partnership between two former employees of The Langham up the street. They've taken up the first floor in a heritage residential building at the corner of Fuxing and Danshui Lu. This means that a lot of their decorating had already been done with them, like the gorgeous wood paneling that lines the walls. They've also fastidiously reproduced an ornate plaster ceiling. Given the aesthetics, you can probably guess what the atmosphere is like: dimly lit, quiet, chilled out. And when the weather is nice they've got a small private patio.
