We popped into two new bars on last night. They take up the final slots on that stretch of F&B that runs between Jiaozhou Lu and Yanping Lu, next to the second and the . Let's start with... oh, let's start with , because it's far and away the better of the two.

This is a whisky and cocktail bar that does a good job of recreating everything that does so well on Xinle Lu. The menu (on a clipboard, always a good sign of the willingness to change) starts ostentatiously with about eight pages of single malts and blends. Get through that and you have a page of bourbon, then a few pages of cocktails, most of which include bourbon or scotch. They are hardcore creations, strong, classic flavors largely devoid of fruit juice, syrups, molecular crap or anything sweet and nasty.
