So the people behind and just opened a new sports bar called on Taojiang Lu, where that vegetarian restaurant used to be. It's huge, with about eight sections and 150 seats total. The owner comes from the American Midwest, and this spot feels a lot an Applebee's, Chili's, or TGIFridays that you might find on any Midwest main street.
You've got outdoor seating, indoor seating, two bars, and lots of little rooms and coves. Brick and wood. Music is classic rock, and mostly deep cuts you haven't heard for a reason. And like those ubiquitous chain restaurants, service is chipper. I half expected to see some flair on their uniforms. Drink prices are okay, given the location -- 500ml Heineken draft for 45rmb, Warsteiner is 55rmb. Shots are 30rmb; cocktails are around 50. Happy hour is a regrettable "Buy-two-get-one." What is that? We live in the -- gonna have to try harder.
