Went down to this new bar last night on Xiangyang Bei Lu called . It's a Chinese-owned cocktail place heavy with Chinoiserie, Chinese art on the walls, Chinese knick-knacks, room for about 60 people to sit down. Good, soft lighting, colorful interiors.

Drinks are creative and some play with TCM ingredients, but they're made more for the local palate: sweet, crowded with ingredients, lots of fruity glassware and novelty-cup action, maybe a touch too saucy for me. And they're not cheap. Things start around 70rmb but lots are around 90rmb. Last night it was quiet, and while it's not far from , , , etc. it may struggle to find a crowd. If it was full, it would be fun. The decoration is cool, anyway. And the bar snacks. Really excellent bar snacks with fried pork and nuts and seaweed, all that good stuff. And they're not stingy with it, either.

will be more of a success, if only because
