The Kick the Gong Around crew have another one of their shindigs in the works this Friday. After covering seemingly every other era of the 20th Century, they've finally made it to the 1980's. The era that brought us such enduring cultural touchstones as parachute pants, Flock of Seagulls, and He-Man.
They say it promises to be an immersive evening of arcade games, roller skating hostesses (wait, wasn't that an early 60's fad?), and leg warmers, as well as all the drippy synth music you can stand. Usually, these guys do a great job of throwing a party, so count on it being a fun time.
We're telling you all this now, because the party is at an undisclosed location. The only way to know the location is to RSVP with an email to ktgashanghai@gmail.com. Book in advance, and it's 200rmb for unlimited booze between 10.30pm and 12.30am. Naturally, the location will eventually be leaked via word of mouth, so if you show up at the door without an RSVP, they're charging 250rmb.
