So, we've got the JZ Festival coming up again at the end of October. It's the largest and longest-running music festival in Shanghai, and once again this year there are two parts -- a two-day outdoor festival in the "Green Note" Expo Park in Pudong on October 20 and 21, and then a week of concerts at the Shanghai Centre Theatre from Tuesday 23 through Saturday 27 October. The Green Note Park is just JZ's name for the park that's bordered by the , the Huangpu, Lupu Bridge and Shibo Avenue. It's inside the former Expo site, Pudong side. Lots of space and shiny walkways and outdoor art and pleasantness.

The outdoor festival has eight stages this year. The full line-up for both days is confirmed and can be seen . There are many jazz highlights, such as saxophonist Chris Potter and trumpeter Roy Hargrove, but there's also more of an emphasis than before on contemporary music, electronic and otherwise, with fusion acts such as the Junglemico Project, who do a kind of live drum'n'bass, breakbeat thing and are fronted by renowned Chinese electronic drummer Mico.

The Earth Lounge also has Ben Huang and more jazz / electronic fusion from Acid Live,
