First week of 2016, and we're already getting some pretty big names flying around the Chinese-language internets for metal (a.k.a. meeeetttaaallll) bands coming to Shanghai and greater China. Of course, these are all in various states of confirmation, ranging from "yeah, it's a go" to "really, really, really up in the air" to "definitely maybe" but SmSh decided we'd throw more grease on this fire as well because... hey, why not. Fire is metal.
A lot of this information is coming from the , the guy who not only leaked last year's Megadeth show information but also Metallica's license submission screenshots for when they came to Shanghai a while back. So, we're not entirely within the realm of fantasy here -- dude's been right before. But, of course, if it needs to be said yet again, unless specifically stated otherwise all of this is still rumors at this point. Don't get your hopes up. Unless you want to. Hey, do what you like.
-AC/DC: The big, breaking name lately associated with a China tour is the kings of Australian hard rock, AC/DC. Currently, in the midst of their world tour behind their 9 millionth album, the band is being rumored to be headlining the 2016 Zhenjiang International Music festival in earlier May 2016 (镇江国际音乐节 -- they had Scorpions last year). The band hasn't announced officially, but they don't have any gigs from Apr 5 - May 6, so it's at least theoretically possible. Been a bit of a rough year for AC/DC. Kind of feels like it's now or never. Hopefully, that one will happen.
More after the jump...
