Not too much to report yet on these, except to say that our have been speaking to Modern Sky, organizers of Strawberry Festival, and they've confirmed that Strawberry is happening April 29-May 2 at the Expo Park in Shanghai.
Headliners so far are Travis and Deerhoof. Hey, my dad likes Travis. He'll be stoked! Deerhoof are an experimental sort-of noise band from San Francisco. TV on the Radio, Flaming Lips, Grizzly Bear, Dirty Projectors, they all cite Deerhoof as an influence. That sounds pretty cool. Expect them to be joined by lots of Beijing bands, a couple of Shanghai bands and another smattering of international acts.
We're also getting news of Midi Festival, which looks like it's going to happen straight after Strawberry, maybe May 3-5. No headline info as yet, but we're guessing that will be in Century Park. Updates as we get them...
