The folks at Midi have released their line-up for this year's Shanghai Midi festival, which is taking place at over two days, April 21 and April 22. It's just two stages -- a main rock stage and an electronic stage.
As is their modus operandi, it's a fairly random collection of metalish /alt rock bands from Europe -- not one but two bands from Denmark and France respectively -- along with the long-running Beijing acts that play it every single year -- Muma & Third Party, Brain Failure, Miserable Faith.
Shanghai bands? Yeah. A few. Tossed in the earlier slots. Long-running pop rock act Yuguo is in there, playing close to the start of the thing, as is alt metal band Da Bei. In addition to them is two younger Shanghai bands, Da Fresh and Daydreamer, slotted into opening duties on both days. They're branded as Zippo lighter or Tiger beer contest winners. Something like that.
If it's one thing Shanghai has though, it's DJs. Bunch of local faces on the electronic stage: Empfab, Acid Pony Club, Mia, and more.
