From , the Shanghainese indie darling of , comes a new vintage clothing shop. is a two room operation, which shares the same building as the vinyl store. It's 70's-80's American and Japanese fashion, and Sophia's idea is to keep it as affordable as it is funky. opened a little over two weeks ago, Sophia's second go at a second-hand clothing store. She opened the first in 2011-12, but when the record business got too busy she pressed pause. Now racks of brightly colored clothes are back as Abandon, a pop-up looking shop with a few racks of funky patterned shirts and dresses. Most of the clothes are from Sophia's favorite fashion decades, the 1970's-80's, collected on expeditions to the West Coast of the U.S. and Japan.
The most punk-rock part of this whole place is that prices lean cheap for foreign-vintage goods, ranging from 50-300rmb. Shirts and dresses (which take up most of the rack space) stay around 150-200rmb and each tag denotes their decade and country of origin. You can snag funky jewelery for 50-80rmb and handbags 150-200rmb.
Abandon won't be doing sales via WeChat. Here, thrifting is treated like the sport it is. You can walk in and sift through the racks in store from 2-8pm, Tuesday-Sunday. *

, has been rescheduled for this Saturday, July 28 scratch that, it's been rescheduled again for Sunday, July 29. For the first one they'll be hosting 10 vendors peddling used and vintage goods. Sophia says if you want to swap or sell your own second-hand clothes, shoes, or accessories, it's a good place to do so. Bring your gently used stuff or just get thrifty, runs from 2-8pm. Abandon plans to host this market monthly, as well as some movie nights. Stay tuned!
