The Mikkeller Running Club is a worldwide community of beer snobs fighting a futile battle against their beer gut, or at least that's how people who aren't in it might describe it. The motto's self-explanatory: "keep up the good spirit, run and drink a lot of beers." Now that Shanghai has a Mikkeller Bar, it obviously needs a chapter of the Running Club. Starting from Saturday, August 1, you can drop by and ask to join at the bar on Yanping Lu: the 500rmb annual membership comes with a special t-shirt (new year, new shirt, new color) as well as a 10% discount on the Mikkeller webshop and at all Mikkeller bars and restaurants in the world (assuming you'll be able to travel before next August).
They're going to start with a 5k route (plan is eventually to work their way up to a 10k option) beginning and ending at the bar... with a beer. Naturally. That's how this works. You know, if you joined this, the Rooster Run every Thursday and the Charlie's Run every Tuesday, you might even manage to lose weight.
