A small, living room esque craft cocktails bar in a dilapidated office building, U Way is the project of Shanghainese bartender Jerry Chen, who used to work at Shen, HOF, and Starling. There is no menu here, just Jerry, who can make just about anything. All standard drinks are 50rmb, though if you want top shelf -- which there is a wide variety of, including several rarer bourbons and gins -- that will cost a bit more. There's only space for 10-15 people so you may want to call ahead. Also, the place is a bit hard to find (directions below), but if you call the venue, someone will come down and get you. Super unpretentious, great cocktails, good vibes. Jerry is the only employee here, so drinks could be slow if it's busy. Also, he occasionally tends bar in other cities, so better call ahead anyway to check if they're open.





Directions: Go to the corner of Liyuan Lu and Ximinli Lu, walking halfway down Xinminli Lu until you see a pair of lions on the left and a giant clothes-collection panda on the right and an ATM that looks like a ghetto TARDIS. There may or may not be a pair of bao'ans hanging out and chain smoking. First building on the right, after the ATM. Go up to the third floor and enter room 318.
