We're going to miss that headline. We've used it when Shanghai's most famous acrobatic's show took a break while the went under some extensive reno work, but this time it's no hiatus. It's done. They've spun their last plate. Backed their last flip. Motorcycled their last cage.
A highlight of the standard Shanghai tour group schedule, the contemporary take on traditional acrobatics shows has been chugging along determinedly, seven days a week, one show per day at 7.30pm, for nearly fifteen years. That's dedication. We had a chance to check ; after just shy of a decade and a half running the same show, the performers are almost on autopilot as they perform death-or-at-least-severe-injury-defying stunts for the crowds. Good news for them: Shanghai Circus World will be hosting a new show starting sometime around the middle of this year. Meanwhile, January 30 is your last chance to see the original show. Tickets still going on .
